This is one of the most exciting and spectacular journeys in North Vietnam. Travel from northeast is a captivating blend of dramatic landscapes and colorful hill tribes to no touristy area side of Halong bay. The journey takes us to a border area crowded with incredible limestone mountains and populated by Nung, Tay and H'mong ethnic peoples. Tour Itinerary in details
Day 1: Ha Noi – Ba Be lakes (L/D)
Departure for Ba Be lake, passing through the mountainous province - Thai nguyen. There are superb landscapes with the rice fields in terrace, the paddle wheels in bamboo on the two sides of the river. Have lunch on road. Upon arrival at Cho Ra about 2h30 PM, take a boat on Ba Be lake that slips in a cultivated country before penetrating in a landscape of chalky cliffs whose flank are characterized by small wild gardens, where hang the lianas and its long roots in quest of earth. Then enter into the Puong Cave or Dau Dang waterfall.
The river flows, making up a wonderful site where you can enjoy the stalactites on foot of this pothole. Continue going by boat to Pac Ngoi - a village of Tay ethnic. The Tay lives on fishing, rice and corn cultivation. Their stilt houses with the thatched roofs disperse in the austere surrounding landscapes. Have dinner and overnight at the local home stay in Ba Be National Park.
Day 2: Ba Be lake - Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfalls (B/L/D)
Have breakfast, then heading out of the town we start venturing into the most northern region of Cao Bang Province . Lunch at locall restaurant, enjoy the scenic roads traverse Trung Khanh before arriving at Ban Gioc Waterfall, which boasts the largest waterfall in Vietnam . We visit this sight and follow our trip to Nguom Ngao Caves , just off the road to Cao Bang. This enormous cave has two main entrances and one branch reaching almost all the way to the waterfalls where is a "secret" entrance. A local guide is provided for your exploration of the cave. On the way back, you can make stops as you please, to visit hill tribe villages and take pictures. O/N in Cao Bang.
Day 3: Cao Bang – Lang Son - Tam Thanh cave(B/L/D)
An early morning departure takes us through the many hill villages and the tranquil town of Dong Khe and That Khe. The journey north continues along the follows the Ky Cung river which flows around the foot of limestone mountains to Lang Son. This border town had been all destroyed during the recent Sino - Vietnamese war, but was rebuilt to become an important trade center in north eastern region, upon arraival, have lunch at local restaurant.

Day 4: Lang Son - Cai Rong - boarding ferry to Quanlan island
Have breakfast, then keep drive in back road along border, past Mau Son mountain, about 30 kilometres from Lang Son city on the winding narrow mountain path, like a snake, lies tucked between 2 steep mountains. Mau Mount is 1542 m above sea level, this area's picturesque scenery turns it a mini Sapa characterized with the beautiful steep mountains. Upon arrival Cai Rong, have lunch at local restaurant, then taking ferry to Quan Lan island. Check in hotel in Quan Lan town. Have dinner & overnight in Quan Lan.
Day 5: Explore Quan Lan island (B/L/D)
This day is free at leisure in bungalow on the beach or flowing our guide to visit Quan lan communal house, pagoda, swimming in white beach of Minh Chau. It is then free time to chill, relax, or take a walk along the beach, a popular option is to hire a bicycle and take a photographic trip around the Island, which will allow you to glimpse the remoteness and untouched scenery that was Vietnam before wide-scale tourism made its impact. Lunch & Dinner is serving at hotel. Overnight in Quan lan island.
Day 6: Quan Lan – Ha Long – Ha Noi (B/L/D)
Early this morning we reboard the ferry for another cruise to Ha Long city where you meet up with your vehicle, lunch in a local restaurant before driving to Ha Noi, stopping en route at Dong Trieu pottery village, back to the hotel in Ha Noi for dinner and a toast to the completion of one of Vietnam's most spectacular loops.
