Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time to explore Hanoi Old quarter. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Starting at 8.30A.M from your hotel, the morning trip takes you to visit Ho Chi Minh complex. We will take in the mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and the humble "house on stilts", from which Ho Chi Minh ruled the North Vietnam until his death in 1969. We also see the Presidential palace, a nice building in French-colonial style and then take a short walk to the famous One-pillar-Pagoda, dating to the 11th century. Afterward, we leave the Ho Chi Minh Complex to the historical Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam and school of Confucianism which was founded in the 11th century. After a cultural and historical enriching morning you will be treated at a local restaurant for lunch. We then enjoy a visit of the traditional Bat Trang ceramic village which is about 20km away from Ha Noi.
There you will see the complete production processes, starting from preparing the clay, shaping the items, drawing and puting them into the kiln. It is a great opportunity to bargain for some products as a special souvenir of the trip.Get back to your hotel around 5:00P.M. The trip ends.
Day 3: Hanoi- Halong Bay, the most amazing World Heritage (B, L, D)
In the Morning, Depart form Hanoi to Halong Bay. After 3 hours driving, you will board a traditional wooden boat to discover the legendary bay. Lunch and dinner is served onboard. Overnight on the boat.
Day 4: Halong Bay- Hanoi (B, L)
Join a Tai Chi session on the sundeck or freshen up with a good swimming before breakfast while the boat cruises among hundreds of islands and islets back to the pier. Drive back to Hanoi. Free to explore more Hanoi city by yourself. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 5: Hanoi - Hue - DMZ - Quang Binh (B)
Morning pick up to Noi Bai Airport fly to Hue Ancient Capital of Vietnam of Nguyen Dynasty. Change to the car from Phu Bai airport. Drive northward through Demilitarized Zone during Vietnam war, stop at Hien Luong bridge, Quang Tri Citadel and visit Vinh Moc tunnel on the 17 parallel. Arrived in Quang Binh. Overnight at hotel in Quang Binh.
Day 6: Phong Nha Unesco Natural World Heritage (B, L)
Drive 1 hour to Phong Nha - Ke Bang Unesco natural world Heritage. Take the boat trip on the Son River visit the Water Cavern the longest water cave in the world. After lunch drive back to Hue. Overnight at hotel in Hue.
Day 7: Hue Unesco World Heritage (B, L)
Morning: visit Great Enclosure of Royal Citadel, the complex of Noon Gate, Royal Palace, and Temples build in 1802. Afternoon boat trip on the Perfume River go up stream visit Thien Mu Pagoda, continue to Minh Mang King's Tomb. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8: Hue - Hoi An (B, L)
Drive along the sea coast southward, climb up on the Cloudy Pass, some stops on the way for taking pictures, pass Da Nang City and visit Champa Sculpture Museum. Arrived in Hoi An, check in Hotel and Lunch break. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoi An Unesco World Heritage (B, L)
Walking in the Unesco World Heritage of Hoi An ancient Street, visit Japanese Bridge, Old house, Chinese Congress Hall, Museum. Free for walk in the street of thousands lanterns reflecting on the water of Hoai River or Cua Dai Beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 10: Hoi An - My Son Unesco World Heritage - Fly to Ho Chi Minh city (B)
Morning drive 1 hour to My Son, Unesco World Heritage, and the Hinduism Sanctuary of Champa kingdom built from VII to XIII centuries. The complex of brick towers, decorated with statues, sculptures divided in many groups and located in the mysterious forest look up to Cat Tooth Holly Mountain. Drive back to Da Nang city for flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh city tour (B, L)
After breakfast, visit War Remnant Museum, Reunification Palace, Post office, Notre dam Cathedral, then pass by People Committee Hall and walk around Ben Thanh market. Lunch break. Afternoon visit Cu Chi tunnel, a famous underground guerrilla base during Vietnam War in the suburban district of Ho Chi Minh City. Back to the City. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh city - Cao Dai temple - Cu Chi tunnel (B, L, D)
AM: Getting started at 08 am from your hotel, transferring to Tay Ninh, near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is an odd mix of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The trip to Tay Ninh is combined with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height the tunnel system stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep.
PM: Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attr giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life in the war must have been like. Our team will drop you off in Ho Chi Minh city at 5.00 PM.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh city - Mekong delta (B, L)
AM: 0800 depart for a fascinating drive through rural Vietnam to Cai Be. As you leave the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh City the scenery changes for the lush rice paddies. This area is referred to locally as the 'rice bowl of Vietnam'.
On arrival disembark on your private boat for a trip to Cai Be floating market. See the larger boats in the market, each selling mostly one product, this is truly a different experience and one you will remember.
Continuing downriver towards Vinh Long, the journey takes one hour and a long the way will stop to visit some of the picturesque islands that lie in the centre of the Mekong River.
Stop at Binh Hoa Phuoc Island and see the delta's second most famous produce after rice, tropical fruits. Stroll through the orchids on the islands, which grow such fruits as Longan, Sapodilla, and Durian whilst also sampling these exotic fruits.
Enjoy lunch on Binh Hoa Phuoc Island and sample the local delicacy Elephant Ear Fish.
PM: Cruise the back waters using the local means of transport, hand paddle boats and on 'Monkey Bridges', small rickety structures that look fairly easy to walk on but are harder than you think.
Take a look also at the local brick kilns and brick production which is popular in this area where more and more houses are now made of brick.
Late afternoon departure from Vinh Long for the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City where you will arrive around 1700.
Day 14: Depart Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Free until transfer to the airport for departure flight.
